Happy International Women’s Day!

Llandudno Museum & Gallery was invited by Women’s Archive Wales to participate in the 2021 Women’s Heritage Walks. We were overwhelmed and very pleased with the number of stereotype-fighting innovative women from around the area. We hope to continue to develop this scholarship every year with a new list of North Wales women making history.

Gwahoddwyd Amgueddfa ac Oriel Llandudno gan Archif Menywod Cymru i gymryd rhan yn Nheithiau Cerdded Treftadaeth Menywod 2021. Cawsom ein rhyfeddu a’n calonogi gan nifer y menywod arloesol o’r ardal a oedd yn herio’r stereoteipiau arferol. Gobeithiwn ddatblygu’r ymchwil hwn bob blwyddyn gyda rhestr newydd o fenywod o ogledd Cymru sy’n creu hanes.

Welcome to Llandudno Museum & Gallery and Women’s Archive Wales’ Llandudno Women’s Heritage Walk. This booklet is one of a series designed to promote an understanding of women’s history in Wales. Women’s history has often been hidden, ignored, or neglected. The aim of Women’s Archive Wales is to re-discover the women who have contributed so much to our history and to restore them to their rightful place. In this booklet we have chosen to focus on a number of women or groups of women whose stories can be told while walking along this specific route. It is an eclectic mix of women from all classes and backgrounds. Enjoy!

Nod Archif Menywod Cymru yw ail-ddarganfod y menywod hynny sydd wedi lliwio ein hanes ac adfer iddynt eu lle priodol ynddo.
